Imagine sleeping under the stars, swimming in a sparkling lake, meeting new friends, and discovering talents you didn’t know you possessed. Imagine creating art and community in a supportive and inspiring environment – all while having a ridiculous amount of fun! If you’re 14 to 18 years old, want to make new friends, explore the arts and make a difference in the world, Power of Hope summer camps are for you!
Each one of us is filled with untapped creativity, and art is an incredible tool to access it! At camp you’ll have the opportunity to try to new things and express yourself in a supportive community with visual arts, dance, theatre, writing, media and much more.
Each day, choose from exciting arts and nature-based workshops led by our staff of inspiring artists, musicians, naturalists and change makers.
Light the Fire takes place in Klahoose territory on beautiful Linnaea Farm on Cortes Island, British Columbia. Linnaea is a 315-acre organic farm and land conservancy of fields, orchards, gardens, bluffs and forests, next to a sparkling lake. Everyday there is time to swim, hike and explore outdoors. In these gorgeous natural settings you’ll fill your days with fun, friendship, and discovery.
Approximately 40 youth & 25 staff from all over Canada and the US attend each of our camps. This small youth-to-staff ratio allows us to provide a safe environment where mentorship relationships can thrive. At every camp, Power of Hope strives to bring together a truly diverse group of youth and staff and aims for diversity of all kinds: ethnic, cultural, religious, class, personality, life experience, and more.
