We are running a mini-series of workshops in 2021! We wanted to do a few things with this series – firstly it has been a difficult year for us and for many of our facilitators, and we wanted to be able to raise some funds for future camps and create some meaningful work for our facilitators. Secondly, we miss you! Our community keeps us afloat and buoys us through our year, we wanted to connect with you and to bring a little slice of the P.O.H. experience out into the world while the future is uncertain.

This series will host two types of workshops: real-time attendance workshops over zoom, and pre-recorded workshops that will be accessible at your leisure – as soon as they are ready, as many times as you like. Some of the zoom workshops may have attendance caps, so if you have your eye on a workshop sign up quick!

Cost to attend a workshop is by donation with a minimum suggested donation of $50. Youth are invited to attend for free. If access is an issue for you right now please reach out and we will find a way for you to attend.

These workshops are intended to raise funds for our organisation but we also understand that this is a difficult time for many, and the issue of access is close to our heart.

If you are able to donate any extra on top of your workshop attendance fee so that someone else can attend it would mean a great deal to us.

Wake Up Your Inner Artist
with Sarah Downey

The inner artist often communicates with symbol, sound, colour and form. Our inner artist is catalyst for swift personal transformation from the inside out. This is the magic that can help move us toward our joy, and support us to get unstuck in our lives. Bring paper and whatever art materials you wish (crayons, markers, pastels, paint box…) and let your inner artist surprise you!

Letters to Our Child Selves
with Iris Moore

What would you say to Little You if you had the chance? How can we honour the children we were in a way that celebrates and supports who we are becoming today?

Social Harms and Benefits of Video Games
with Ariel Moore

This will be a group discussion in which we examine the ways in which video games can be beneficial (as well as detrimental) to our lives. We will have opportunities to share our perspectives as well as personal stories.

Meet A Tree
with Dan Peters

Hello! My name is Dan and I am coming to you from the unceded, ancestral territories of the Klahoose, Tla’Amin, Homalco and K’omoks people in the Salish Sea. Perhaps you will accompany me on a quick journey? This modern world moves fast and often leaves us feeling stretched a little thin or a bit (or quite a lot..) anxious. We’re going to go meet a tree together, and who knows what else might happen along the way…

In(k)-tuition: Poetry From the Gut
with Lucia Misch

We think too hard and it’s exhausting. Plus, it makes our many other wisdoms feel left out. In(k)tuition explores what happens when you give your thoughts the day off and let your body run the banana stand.
Looking to process over product, somatic over Socratic, reflex over reason, and sentience over syntax, this workshop—unlike this sentence—is all about under-thinking it. As a facilitator, Lucia Misch draws from more than a decade as a poet, performer and teaching artist, a sincere (if totally unscientific) interest in embodied cognition, and an entire lifetime spent trying to figure out why it feels so weird to exist.
