Creating a world we want to live in

Volunteers with a passion for supporting youth are the backbone of the Power of Hope experience.

About our Volunteers!

We try to bring in 5 new volunteers each camp. Often our returning and new volunteers have had extensive PYE training in the Creative Community model. What is PYE Training? We also open up 2 volunteer spots each camp for creatively driven youth mentors (age 22 and up) who have previously attended a Power of Hope camp as a youth themselves.

We value having a strong team that a multifaceted group of youth can see themselves reflected in and connect with. We welcome racial diversity, gender diversity, intersectionality and diversity of discipline and opinion. If you come from a diverse, intersectional background, we’d love to know. While we are an arts based camp we also welcome other skill sets and passions.

We are often on the look out for a certified lifeguards and a registered nurse. Please let us know if you have these qualifications!

There are other ways to support Power of Hope too:
1. Join the Core Support Circle.
2. Consider donating items on our wish list
3. Volunteer at a Fundraiser.

We’ve got yearly fundraisers in Victoria in January, Cortes Island in July, and in Vancouver in November. Please email to express interest.

How to Apply!

We accept applications year round!

You are welcome to fill out a form so we’ve got you in our records.

We require all of our volunteers to have a current criminal record check sent to us.

To strengthen your application you may want to attend a PYE Training.
Upcoming trainings can be found HERE.
